This means that on those days when it is really nippy out there, I am usually under-dressed and don't enjoy myself because I am chilly. I made myself a scarf to remedy this situation. It is short, and compact, so easy to stash in your handbag. You can take it with you and grab it out when the sun goes down and the cold air suddenly rushes in. It is loosely knitted, very soft and comfortable and can be worn over a dress or a top. Most of all, it is feminine and doesn't really look like scarf, it looks more like a choker necklace made out of yarn!
The pattern is really interesting, a fisherman's rib and a knitted flower (I would recommend a circular needle for this, as it was hard work on double-pointed needles) and didn't take me long to knit. Find the pattern for free on Ravelry.
I used a cheap acrylic yarn for this, but I expect a cashmere or silk would be much more fabulous! It only takes one skein.
