Savannah has come to England

Oh, the times I used to savour this fine drink on the cool evenings at Clifton Beach in Cape Town, during those hazy university days.

Well, OK, it may not be such a fine drink. In fact there is debate as to whether it is really made of apples.

I don't care. For me, it is a fine fine drink. And it is now available at our local supermarket, imported lovingly all the way from South Africa.

And so I must celebrate Savannah.

I've never had this kind of cider...I am assuming it's hard/alcoholic cider, yes? But I LOVE cider. Wait till you move to Indiana...there's usually a few brands around!

Yes, it is about 5% alcohol. It is supposed to be a hard apple cider, hence the debate about the apples. It is very fruity and not at all "dry" like the local English cider, which tastes, frankly, like wee.
How does the local American cider taste?

Fruity, for the most part. It's how I got started drinking alcohol! Some places in Indiana, though, you can get Strongbow's in a can, and that's nice and dry.
